| In synthesis, the three great present problems of Solar
Astronomy are:
- 1) The understanding of the solar activity phenomena to design a magnetic model
of this star.
- 2) To relate the different types of solar activity to each other.
- 3) To understand the operation of the Sun and its cycles.
The observations that support to the obtaining of data for investigations
focused to these problems, require great times of monitoring with excellent atmospheric
conditions that allow to work at maximum resolution.
These observations would focus towards:
- a) The systematized observation of the chromosphere in the line of He I (1083 nm)
and its ephemeral relation with active regions, flares and regions, establishing a
comparison in ultraviolet and X rays.
- b) The behavior of the sectors of single-pole flow in the lines H-Alpha and
Calcium with a comparison in magnetograms, ultraviolet and X rays to determine relations
with the phenomena of Coronal Holes.
- c) Monitoring solar activity in the H-Alpha line in relation to the behavior of
the solar cycle activity number 23 that has begun.
- d) Monitoring of the internal solar corona.
The existing experience with the observational program of the Solar Observation
Station EOS, in the last four years, allows to forcast the feasibility of these
observations from a place with the best conditions.
